Star Trek: Picard reviews

Picard seasons

Star Trek: Picard is a sequel to Star Treks: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Lower Decks, Prodigy and the prime canon events that take place in the Kelvinverse films.

The series follows Admiral Picard in his twilight years who has descended into depression and complacency over a series of earlier tragic events he found himself unable to prevent or sufficiently mitigate. In the course of the story, Picard finds his footing and embarks on a series of interstellar adventures once again, pairing up with new friends and old friends. At the start of the series we get acquainted with a new kind of starship: the La Sirena, which is privately owned by a friend of Picard's. Later in the story, particularly in its final season, we get to see more Federation starships and the series starts to feel more like the badly-needed sequel to the 24th century Star Trek shows we've hoped for for decades. The series closes with a very satisfying ending after a series of missteps in the first two seasons.
